MainBot2420Top-Notch Atmospheric True CrimeBeing a regular subscriber to Murder Mile, They Walk Among Us, U.K. True Crime, Buried Bones and Small Town Dicks, this podcast is phenomenal. The sound effects, story-telling, script-writing, detailed research and the Voice — all make you feel as if you were really there, in a human, humane and understanding kind of way. In particular, Episode 73 The Raising of David and Chelsea is one of the best podcasts I have heard. Thank you!

MoonsynnNot so Clean#281 - “having bartered a price for her p*ssy”. Sorry but how is that “clean”? Some episodes are clean while others are littered with derogatory terms. Not for me.

❤️ yo nanaOH MY...Where do I begin ... this will be too long to print ... Michael, your talent had my heart on the first episode ... which amazed me, enthralled me, and has now captivated me to the point where I cannot do without your podcast. I remember the British podcast awards, thinking that you definitely should have won 🏆 ... hearing of your trips to the library of records ... I remember when you had begun 'waffling,' (as you call it) at the end of the scripted part, and how I loved it - 10 minutes, cakes, dieting ... THEN! years ago, the panic 🙀 and praying that you would not END the podcast ... You mean so much to me. BRILLIANT ❗️ as you British like to say. ❤️

Pam K AccountFabulous PodcastMichael is an amazing story teller. He finds some really interesting incidents from history. He is a must listen for all true crime podcast listeners. Hands up for the small podcasters!!

alexandra.76I Can't Decide on a TitleI like the podcast, it's easy to see that he puts in a lot of work and effort towards each episode and tells the story with humorous professionalism and hard work always deserves high recognition. But I wish the theme could branch out into different types of crime, involving different types of people, rather than destitute female sex workers and who killed them. That seems to be the main theme of the podcast, it's almost predictable that each new episode is about a sex worker.

jsspainExcellent PodcastI absolutely love this podcast. His voice is great, he is an extremely good writer and I love the banter at the end of the show. I am a history and true crime fan and this podcast is a great mix of both.

lizcriSo much research!I listen to a ton of true crime podcasts -I’ve listened to Murder Mile for a long time-and am always impressed by the amount of detail that Michael goes into. There are not many that compare. Most hosts just regurgitate old information. Good work Michael!
-
1prooneyAwesomeness!Michael pours himself into all episodes with thoroughness, creativity, sensitivity, intellect, and boundless enthusiasm. It’s hard to imagine how one can make true crime enjoyable but he does - and with much respect for the people he features. Murder Mile is my # 1 podcast and I listen to many podcasts of all sorts. In fact ~ I often re-listen to several of my fave episodes from MM. Thanks for sharing your ingenious talent, Michael ♥️

One of my favorite podcasts is They Walk Among Us and Murder Mile is of the same caliber. I❤️your coot stories! I have to say that at first I thought you were talking about random creeps. LOL. You are HILARIOUS!! You are EXTREMELY talented and I wish you so much present and future success. Your ideas for this podcast and your walking tour are truly BRILLIANT! So unique and interesting! I love your voice and sense of humor! Hugs and kisses from the states!! ❤️😘

NullityBeautifully doneThis is definitely a showcase podcast; this beautifully done pod has a host with a voice like butter that is able to paint the scene so as he says, in the beginning, it makes you feel as if you were there. The only problem with the podcast if this is a criticism at all is that his voice is too smooth so much so that sometimes I fall asleep in the middle of the episode, which is a shame, because the stories are so wonderful.
-
FL0RIDA J03meticulous, comprehensive, obscure and enjoyablefinally a podcast about true crime it’s going to be something you’ve never heard before he does deep meticulous research on murders that happen over 150 years ago you know he’s not parroting somebody else’s work when you listen to this podcast for a month or two you really start looking forward for the next episode and at the end of episode he sounds like he just finished running the freaking Boston marathon it makes me laugh every time...

something clever idkLong awkwardly placed pausesHow do you have bad punctuation while speaking? Difficult to focus because the cadence is so irritating.
-
dorky_introvertDelightfulI found Michael’s story telling to be informative & respectful, while adding his own light humor (which I enjoyed very much). I also found his voice very pleasant, so I will be sticking around for this podcast. 😊
-
DarkepoisonAmazingI really enjoy Micheals approach to telling the tales of true chrome. Very respectful of the victim and their families.
-
Blue Eyed Farm Girl from CaliBrava!!!Riveting, exciting, and engaging!! I am enjoying his brand of true crime. Buckle your seatbelts, hang on and enjoy the ride..

Grt144Really Good WorkMike is an incredible storyteller and researcher. The way he edits his episodes also highlight this. His attention to detail is very pronounced and creates great narratives. As a historian however, I have to comment on some of his terminology. Throughout the Soho Strangler case mike uses the terms “white slavery” and “white slaver” which are incredibly inaccurate and unnecessary terms. These men were human traffickers and to refer to it as white slavery is incredibly disrespectful to the women of color who were also victims. I know he’s taking much of this from period news narratives but nonetheless it is a bit tasteless. Love the podcast though!
-
estree07Best true crime story everMike is the best story telling, he keeps you on the edge of your sit and provides you with a different prospective of the crime. His way to tell each story is unique, and perfect for those of us who want to know not only the facts but also the side of the victims. Thanks Mike, you are fantastic! KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU DO BEST, TELLING THE FACTS AND BE THE VOICE OF THE VICTIMS. Lots of love, Esther Reed

Kisifer99Really good!Well written, presented, and spoken. Not for children.

MBeechOne of, if not, the bestMichael has the best researched and produced true crime podcast. I’ve heard many, many true crime shows and I’ve never been so impressed. Michael gives such a detailed and moving show. It’s almost brought me to tears listening to some of the stories of the victims. His sarcasm at the beginning of the show is entertaining, his descriptions are keen and his re-enactments are enthralling. Kudos!
-
megadramaEntertaining and thoroughly researched!I have really been enjoying Mike’s well-written and atmospheric treatment of UK true crime stories. He is affable and witty, yet appropriately sensitive and respectful. His Extra Mile feature is a highlight for me. Tea and cakes and coots, oh my! Love it!
-
HPLspprShould be getting awardsFor the Blackout Ripper series alone. Seriously. The research put into that was so impressive. Thanks Mike.
-
Sr JulianMurder MileThis is a top notch production. Michael uses all primary sources, like police notes from interviews and trial scripts. The layered texture is amazing. I am never bored and look forward to every episode. Through the years he just gets better. He also got me drinking tea and now he’s drinking coffee!

ha FDA goCrassStarted listening after it was recommended by one of the hosts of Morbid. Initially I was pulled in by his storytelling, but eventually I was really turned off by his explicit and crass descriptions of sex workers. Some of the details he adds are so unnecessary and disrespectful and so is the way he switches off at the end and starts talking about the weather or whatever. He gives no acknowledgement of the horrible story he just relayed to us, and the way he switches topic is jarring.
-
sharkswimFascinating StoriesMike can tell a story. Beautiful and captivating storytelling build around solid research. Very accurate location delivery, too. Creates context and atmosphere. Murder cases that I never heard of. Podcast host is honest and doesn’t use smoke and mirrors to attract listeners, he’s just plain good. One of the best true crime podcast out there. Actually, the best.
-
Jra4776⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Came from Morbid. Absolutely hooked on this podcast now. Great job. Definitely recommend
-
LilmissCKEEntertaining and well researched!I love this True Crime podcast, very well researched and cases that aren’t told on every other podcast!
-
Maude The ThirdBl**dy funnyMock 1950s radio delivery. Writing full of hilarious bolshie ridicule of the English middle classes. Very droll and pointed social humor with colorful storytelling. (The Lena Cunningham case made me cry though. RIP Lena.)
-
Quanams2009Best true crime podcast👍👍👍👍You’ve done a great job researching, story telling and editing the audio - keep up the work. Does anyone else come from Luke’s English Podcast?:))))
-
1984CaptainCaptivating Original DeliveryMike, I have listened to all your episodes and have even started to listen to the early episodes again. I’m so pleased you haven’t followed the herd and go over the same old murders, they are done to death. As I am in the states now, I get very envious of your cake choices, I especially miss Belgian Buns with the Cherry on top and moving onto Chelsea Buns my personal favourite, only because Chelsea is the better team!!
-
WayneO33Fantastic StorytellerMichael is an amazing storyteller and I Enjoy the podcast immensely…..and the after show banter in the boat is the best!
-
lagoona1219Should Be Top TenI don’t understand how more people haven’t heard this podcast and moved it to a top spot! I listen to A LOT of true crime and Murder Mile is definitely one of the best. The creator, Michael, does an outstanding job of researching, writing, and recording each episode then tops it off with a great, down to earth little extra at the end. His writing style is wildly entertaining and I catch myself laughing out loud at his observations and comments. Take a listen - it’s hard to describe!
-
Fergus2019Amusing even when not tryingMichael is extremely talented as a storyteller simultaneously being hilarious with commentary. His use of sneaky alliteration and subtle English smarminess ( is that a word?) (yes if I say so). the Quiz is the best!
-
JaninelilyGreat writing and researchI really do feel as if I am there! Background sounds are very well done and the writer is great with setting the scene as well as good with suspense and just plain crafting a sentence! As an American Anglophile, I appreciate this way to visit my favorite place. I heard one episode and then started back at the beginning. In the Battered Child episode we get a good picture of the difficulty and injustice of life in Britain back in the early 1900’s. Well done!
-
kandy-JacqsMy favorite podcastI love this podcast- Michael has an amazing way of setting the scene and gives you a real insight into the people in the story. The details really do make you feel like you’re actually there. The amount of work and research he must put in is unreal. Plus I actually laugh out loud at the intros - one of the joys I have as a Brit living in Los Angeles is hearing proper British humor. Highly recommend ❤️
-
KrystanUPSThe gaspsAre my favorite part lol I am only near the beginning of the episodes I hope you never get rid of that. Absolutely love this style from the storytelling to the production to the voice to the extra mile !
-
Calamity KitBetter Than CakeI only just found this podcast, but it has become a fast favorite. I have been eagerly devouring episode after episode. Murder Mile has been so carefully crafted. It is meticulously researched, using primary sources whenever possible. It is carefully written, often victim-focused, and very thorough. Plus! I love Extra Mile. I love the waffle, the cake, the tea, the coots—all if it. There is a real warmth and humanity to this podcast, and all the effort and heart that Michael puts into it is more than evident. It is a must listen for anyone interested in true crime.
-
brooklyn0055MikeYou make me laugh you make me cry. Love your podcast. My hope is for someday to cross the pond for your Murder Mile Walk. Thanks
-
nicknamenone09Fantastic podcast!!I love true crime podcasts and this is one of the best! I would highly recommend it. Mike does a thorough job researching because he actually get files and primary sources, not just newspaper reporting. The entire podcast is not only well written and researched, but he also does a great job at telling the story. He successfully adds sounds and uses different voices during the narrative. He is a natural storyteller. I also love the second part of the show, “extra mile”. Everything is extremely well done.
-
CharmezDiligent ResearchMike’s conscientious research into each crime he presents is thorough, thoughtful, and appreciated. Though I must mention, having a son who deals with dyslexia and ADHD, I am amazed at the final product and the editing Mike does to achieve it. Also, thanks to Extra Mile, I have expanded my repertoire of cakes and sweets.
-
andersonesqueAmazing writing and researchI love this podcast so much, it’s so well-written and entertaining. I especially love the historical cases and hearing about London from the past. Keep up the great work Michael! You’re an excellent writer and host.
-
Mrs. GummybearGood podcast, worth a listenWhat an enjoyable podcast for a true crime genre … well produced and a great presenter
-
MzMel1976Greeting from Asheville North CarolinaGreat podcast
-
Daddy Pickles!??Love the podcast, love the host, can’t stand the cheesy typewriter noises. So annoying. Also, it’s half of a podcast. The podcast part is great, but the self-indulgent second half is to be skipped, as it is gloopy, wee-hee, rubbish.
-
Kerri MelsonLove love love this!!Love the episodes, the cakes, the boat, the coots… it’s like I’m right there with Michael!!
-
Cutedoggy911Love it!Wonderful comprehensive research and very entertaining format. Thank you so much for your hard work. It’s great to listen to at night!!!

CarriebygraceMesmerizingI’m so glad I found MM. I’m one of those Americans who really enjoys other English accents and I’m also a sucker for a good dramatic presentation. So, I simply love you, Mike. This podcast is truly wonderful and helps me get through my very boring, very clerical day. Yours Truly, American Carrie
